Here’s an explanation of anxiety and stress in Islam and how to address them through dua:

“Hasbiyallahu la ilaha illa Huwa, ‘alayhi tawakkaltu wa Huwa Rabbul ‘arshil ‘azeem.”

حسبي الله لا إله إلا هو، عليه توكلت وهو رب العرش العظيم

Translation

“Allah is Sufficient for me; there is no deity except Him. I have placed my trust in Him, and He is the Lord of the Mighty Throne.”

  1. Steps to Seek Relief through Dua

    • Sincerity: Approach the dua with sincerity and a pure heart believing in Allah’s power to ease your anxiety and stress.
    • Consistency: Make dua regularly preferably in the last third of the night or during the prescribed times for supplication.
    • Reflection: Reflect on the meaning of the dua and the attributes of Allah which can provide solace and comfort.
    • Patience: Understand that relief may not come instantly. Be patient and continue to seek Allah’s guidance and support.
  2. Additional Islamic Practices

    • Salah (Prayer): Performing the five daily prayers can help calm the mind and connect with Allah.
    • Dhikr (Remembrance): Engaging in the remembrance of Allah through phrases like “SubhanAllah,” “Alhamdulillah,” and “Allahu Akbar” can bring peace and reduce stress.
    • Reading Quran: Reading and reflecting on Quranic verses can provide spiritual comfort and guidance.
  3. Professional Help

  4. While dua and spiritual practices can be beneficial, it’s essential to seek professional help if anxiety and stress become severe or chronic. Consulting with a mental health expert or counselor is encouraged in Islam to address these issues.

In Islam, dua is seen as a means of seeking Allah’s help and guidance in all aspects of life, including dealing with anxiety and stress. It should be used in conjunction with taking practical steps and seeking professional assistance when necessary.
